Welcome Paige

So big news first...we had our baby. Paige Lynn Burley was born Saturday March 28th at 2:01 pm. She was a surprising 9lbs 4oz and 21 inches long.

She had a rough start with some fluid in her lungs and had to stay in the nursery and wean off of the c-pap oxygen, room air and her IV.  I got to see her a couple hours after she was born and they had gotten everything under control, and got to hold her a while after that.  It felt like a really long time but we were so excited when we finally did get to hold her.

She got Mason's love right away by giving him a present when we got home, she got him Big Hero 6, or as Mason calls it, Big Robot Guy!!  Mason was so excited and has been really good with her for the most part since then.

He is very helpful making sure he always turns the vibrating on when she's in her seat, gets her diapers, and every now and then can be found talking to her and gently patting her legs.  He also loves to throw her diapers away saying, "baby go yucky poo poo".

We were lucky enough to have my mom come and stay with us while I got back to normal.  We were able to go on a few outings while she was here .  We were able to celebrate Easter with family which included doing the egg tree, an egg hunt and an amazing Easter dinner.

We also got to go to the tulip festival which made my mom really happy. Mason loved smelling the flowers, and seeing all the bright colors.

We made a trip up to Canada where we went White Rock for 5 pin bowling, walking along the water and amazing fish and chips, we of course stopped at Tim Hortons on the way home. It was a load of fun and Paige did great the whole trip.

One night at home we had a fire and made s'mores which Mason loved, he ended up eating 4 of them. He thoroughly enjoyed them and is looking forward to it again.

We love our new addition and are so happy she is home, healthy and here to stay!

Disney Land Trip

My sister Wynne returned from serving a mission in Brasil and my parents made sure to get seasons passes to Disney Land  when they went in January so they could take her when she got back. Basically my whole family ended up going to Disney Land and we were able to go as well.

Christopher was busy studying so we went down a week early to see my family and give him some space and time to focus.  We were able to spend a day or so with Christopher's sister and Mason loved being able to see his cousins. We played at different parks and of course spent time on the trampoline.

At my parents house Mason got to cook with Grammie, which involved flour all over the counter and floor when Mason turned the mixer on too early, and him eating a ton of cookie dough.

We also went to Fairytale Town, a couple parks, helped around the house, chased Grammie and Paka and played lots with cousins again!

We also had a couple great dinners for Christopher's birthday and a cake that Mason helped me make.

Disneyland was quite the adventure for sure. We drove down at 3 am which meant Mason was exhausted the whole day, so he was grumpy anytime we had to wait in line. But he loved all the rides and had a hard time watching the rides going without him being on them.

He would see other people riding and say, "Me turn." He cried when he had to get off any ride so I guess that means he really liked them.

Mason loved feeding Christopher his water and then drinking some himself which made it nice that I didn't have to worry about him getting enough to drink.

Mason loved the train even though you can't tell from the picture because he had just woken up from his nap.

These fries were amazing and totally worth $7, the only money we ended up spending in the park.

Mason had a "blast" riding on the buzz ride and shooting all the bad guys.

He really liked the carousels and ended up riding it 4 times in a row.

Dumbo was also really fun for him to "fly high" and ride in an elephant.

We loved being able to see Mason on all the rides and watch his reaction to parades, seeing Mickey and riding the gadget coaster.

You can't hear Mason but he's saying weeee the whole time riding and of course said my turn when it ended.

Besides all the whining and crazy grumpiness from him being tired we had a blast with my family. We sorta vowed and promised ourselves that we wouldn't go with a child under 3 ever again, but we had a great time anyway! Thanks to everyone for making it such a fun time!
