Mason's dream come true!

Mason has been in love with balls for a few months now.  It started with the basketball he got for his birthday, watching games on tv, and Christoper's PS3 games.  When we go somewhere and hear him say, "buh..buh" we will look around because there has to be a ball somewhere.  Even when we were in the shoe department he said "buh...buh" and I thought no, there aren't any balls here. Then I looked up and saw a picture of a guy playing basketball, shame on me for doubting you Mason.

Because of his obsessions we decided to get him a hoop.  We were so excited to show it to him that when it arrived Christoper put it together in our room to surprise him.  When he brought it out Mason dropped his Lion and baseball bat he was holding ran right over saying "buh...buh".  He grabbed the ball and threw it in over and over and over again. Needless to say he loved it!

Since then he has wanted to play non stop with his hoop. Throwing every ball he has through the hoop, wanting to be done eating early so he can go play and not being able to sit through church knowing there is a hoop in the gym.  Anytime he goes to the toys at any house he gets a ball first. It's also funny he knows that real basketballs are orange and  now he will rarely play with a basketball that is a different color. Other balls are okay being a different color but he only wants to play with the basketballs that are orange.

Christopher is happy he loves balls and his hoop, and I'm happy Mason's happy.

Snow day!!

We got snow! Around 9 inches to play with Sunday morning. After we heard church was canceled we headed over the Nana and Pop Pop's and started getting our gear on. Luckily we had been given snow boots from a friend that were only a size too big for Mason to wear, and we bundled him up in his jammies, hat, gloves, coat, and his hood to go and help us build a snow man.  He loved being in the snow, he had a hard time walking around but loved it anyway.

A lot of the time he was sitting down but Mason was a big helper building the snowman. He would pick up snow then pat the snowman the same way we were.  I think our snowman turned out great, Christopher did an awesome job picking out the branches for him.

After Pop Pop got home, we went walking on the trails, it was really pretty. The snow was high on all the branches and even weighed the trees down so much that they nearly covered one section of the trail. While we stomped our way through the snow Mason rode in style in the sled.

I wasn't sure how much Mason would like being on his stomach to ride but he loved it. He smiled the whole time and made his car noise.

We took him to a small hill near the house to sled, Christopher went down with him first.  He laughed and smiled the entire way down. When we got back to the top and Christopher put him down he walked over and tried to get in the sled to go again.  He would get a huge grin on his face right at the edge before the sled went down.  He went a few times with Christopher, myself and Pop Pop!!  He even loved it after he got a face full of snow. He was sad to leave but was happy once he was being pulled in the sled.

We loved our snow day almost as much as Mason did. We are so glad that he is such a happy boy that is willing to try everything!  We loved playing with Nana and Pop Pop and we, especially Mason, can't wait for another day like that!
