Paige is 1 month old

Well we made it through one month with two kids, and it's been really great!

Since my mom left we've been enjoying Paige and helping Mason adjust to having a younger sister and having to share attention.  He mostly ignores her and only pays attention to her when someone else is looking at her, he will go over to her and tell the person, "this my baby", or something along the lines of her getting Big Robot Guy for him.

Paige is a great baby. She is awake and happy for a few hours throughout the day, and will sleep really well at night. I'll feed her right before we go to bed around 10:30 and she will sleep for a good 4 hours before waking up again.  She will sleep on and off again for stretches of 2 or more hours till about 7:30am; and that is why we are doing great!

We love our beautiful girl and are enjoying our time with her!!

Just for fun here is a comparison of Mason and Paige at 1 month.

Welcome Paige

So big news first...we had our baby. Paige Lynn Burley was born Saturday March 28th at 2:01 pm. She was a surprising 9lbs 4oz and 21 inches long.

She had a rough start with some fluid in her lungs and had to stay in the nursery and wean off of the c-pap oxygen, room air and her IV.  I got to see her a couple hours after she was born and they had gotten everything under control, and got to hold her a while after that.  It felt like a really long time but we were so excited when we finally did get to hold her.

She got Mason's love right away by giving him a present when we got home, she got him Big Hero 6, or as Mason calls it, Big Robot Guy!!  Mason was so excited and has been really good with her for the most part since then.

He is very helpful making sure he always turns the vibrating on when she's in her seat, gets her diapers, and every now and then can be found talking to her and gently patting her legs.  He also loves to throw her diapers away saying, "baby go yucky poo poo".

We were lucky enough to have my mom come and stay with us while I got back to normal.  We were able to go on a few outings while she was here .  We were able to celebrate Easter with family which included doing the egg tree, an egg hunt and an amazing Easter dinner.

We also got to go to the tulip festival which made my mom really happy. Mason loved smelling the flowers, and seeing all the bright colors.

We made a trip up to Canada where we went White Rock for 5 pin bowling, walking along the water and amazing fish and chips, we of course stopped at Tim Hortons on the way home. It was a load of fun and Paige did great the whole trip.

One night at home we had a fire and made s'mores which Mason loved, he ended up eating 4 of them. He thoroughly enjoyed them and is looking forward to it again.

We love our new addition and are so happy she is home, healthy and here to stay!
