Kid Update

I totally missed a 7 month post for Paige so I'll just combine 7 and 8 together.

Mason and Paige 7 months

Mason and Paige 8 months

Paige is now 8 months, she loves to schooch across the floor in a sitting position and pull with her legs one at a time.  She has yet to crawl but can maneuver herself to where she wants to go.She bends all the way over her legs while sitting and would be able to pop up onto her knees but instead keeps one leg bent underneath.

I was totally loving her hair and how it was almost a mohawk. It has grown in more since this and gotten longer so it doesn't look so much like a mohawk anymore.

She loves to smile at people and has started to be a bit more interactive and wave to everyone.  We love that she will watch and respond to us and I find myself waving all the time just to see her chubby little hand wave back at me.

She can be occupied for large chunks of time if she has a cupboard or bins to pull things out of, which we love at night after Mason goes down.

Paige loves blankets, she especially loves to throw them up and down over her head.

Mason is having a great time adjusting to Paige and has started to like her more and more.  He requested to hold her for the first time ever!

Paige loves to watch Mason run, laugh, and play.  Mason is doing better with her sleeping in the same room. The first night we were letting her cry and Mason came out a couple times letting me know that Paige needed me.  He talks to her when she cries and even plays peek-a-boo through the crib bars.

Mason is growing up so fast and getting a larger vocabulary. He is also starting to copy the things he hears from shows and stuff we say. So when he gets mad or really angry he tell us, "I'm sick of...(whatever we did).

Mason has started to sing his ABC's anytime, anywhere, so on Sundays he can be heard singing the ABC's pretty loudly skipping the J and combining the LMNOP.

We have started to teach and explain to him that people have first and last names.  So at random times he will tell us, "Dad you name is Christopher Burley"(he pronounces it Buree).

I just love watching Mason and Paige learn, grow, and interact with each other!!

Paige 6 months

Paige is 6 months old and growing in size and cuteness.

6 months stats:
Height: 27.5 inch (93%)
Weight: 19 lbs 0.5 oz (88%)
Head Circumference: 17.75 inch (97%)

Here is a comparison of Mason and Paige at 6 months.

6 Month Comparison

Paige is a great baby. She is happy most of the day to sit on the floor or in her exersaucer and observe.  She loves to grab and reach for anything that is close to her.

She also loves to throw her body back and forth; if she's holding onto someones hands she bends her elbows and does air push ups. If she's on the floor she straightens her arms, bends her elbows and lifts herself up and down.  In the exersuacer she holds onto toys or the side and rocks like crazy.

She loves Mason as much as ever and will smile and laugh at anything he does. He even played with her for a few minutes, she was in heaven.  He has also requested she be in his room while he plays but she isn't allowed to touch or play with any of his toys.

On walks she will usually ride in the Bjourne because Mason is in the stroller, but she got to ride in the stroller a few times and has loved it!!

Now all we have to do is convince Mason that it's ok for her to be in the stroller and not him.

She doesn't spit up much anymore, thank goodness, but she still slobbers and drools like crazy. She also likes to lick things. She also has started to eat some solids and really enjoys it, she grabs my hands then eats her own which are covered in food and makes a big mess.

Her hair is getting so much more blonde and her curls are not too prominent anymore, I hope they stay as her hair gets longer.

She just started this thing where she squeals then drops her voice down to a growl.  We think she gets it from Mason always being a dinosaur, dragon, lion, tiger, or bear.

Paige loves to watch Rio and follow him around while she stands in the exersaucer.  It makes her day when he gets close enough for her to touch.

We think she is so cute, and love watching her learn and grow.

Mason turned 3!!

Mason is now 3 years old.

Favorite food: pizza
Favorite color: he said black--but usually it's blue
Favorite movie: The Care Bear Movie and Big Hero 6
Favorite toy: Baymax
Best Friends: All the kids
Favorite thing to do: jump on my bed and watch movies

We decided to have some of his friends over for little birthday party. We decorated cupcakes which Mason had been waiting for since I made them the day before.

I had to grab the cupcake from him in between each time I went to get frosting or put on different sprinkles.  We sang to him and then he blew out the candle; it's a good thing we didn't have trick candles because it took him 3 or 4 times to blow out the one candle we put on his cupcake.  He loved his cupcake, he mostly just ate the frosting off the top.

Mason opened a couple presents while people were finishing off their cupcakes, he loved them. He got a car with tools, and a set of tonka constructions trucks.

The kids had a great time running around inside and playing. We also set out some paper bags they decorated and colored, then headed outside for the pinata!

We kept the pinata a surprise and were so happy to see his reaction when we had the bat and told him to hit it.  We had him go first and hit it a few times, he got a couple really good whacks in. We let everyone else have a turn hitting it, most of the kids kinda swung at the pinata but didn't really hit it great or didn't care to hit it more than once.

After everyone had gone we let Mason loose on it. He was having a great time and finally hit the front wheel off, it didn't have candy in that compartment so I tore open the middle and shook the candy out for the kids to get.

Mason was so excited and just wanted to open the first piece he found, I had to explain that he could pick up as much as he could get and put in his bag, after a couple seconds he figured it out.

We had a great time talking with friends and Mason was so happy having his friends over and has already asked for them to come play more.  Thanks everyone for coming!

After his friend party we headed over to John and Debbie's for dinner and cake with the family.  We had pizza which is Mason's favorite. We gave him a little bit of rootbeer which he hasn't really had before and he liked it but would shake after every sip and tell us it was 'spicy'. Then he opened his presents.

He got a Baymax, a big triceratops, a couple books, new clothes, a stuffed t-rex, Avenger toys, money, hulk boots and ninja turtles.  He made out with a pretty good haul and was in heaven opening all his presents.

After we pulled him away from his new stuff we sang to him and ate cake. I decided to be adventurous and do a character cake. I made sure I gave myself plenty of time to make it so I wouldn't be stressed and it was a good thing, because it took me 2 hours, but it was totally worth it.

Mason loved his "turtle face" cake, and he had a great time playing with cousins and seeing family.

Thanks to everyone for the gifts and helping us celebrate his birthday!!
