Gobble-Gobble Day

For thanksgiving we went to Bellingham and got see some of the family, and a new addition.  We got to see Nana and Pop Pop of course, Gi Gi, Aunt Linda and Uncle Pete, and the Spinellis. Mason was good for a little bit but as you can tell he got tired pretty quick.

Then of course we got to see Grandma and Grandpa B. They had been waiting a long time and were so excited when they finally got to see him.  On the night that we went there I was so glad that he was happy most of the time we were there. He even sat and jabbered with Grandpa for a few minutes and smiled away at Grandma.  We took advantage of all the Burley boys being there to take a 4 generations picture.

Grandpa was so cute holding him with Christopher all the time whispering to Mason, "We love you, we love you."  He kept looking down at him; for every picture I had to remind Grandpa to look at me so I could take the picture.

We also got to spend a couple days with Kaylin and Lauren.  There was a lot of "Mom and Daughter" playing with Kaylin, book reading, tackling and tickling. Lauren even wanted to hold Mason quite a bit and would come over to me and say, "I want to hold her," it was cute. Christopher was a huge help by letting himself get dog-piled on a few times a day and even helped with washing the girl's hair at bath time.

For Thanksgiving day we went down to Renton and saw the new Stephen's baby, Ashton. She was so quiet compared to Mason, and sat most of the time in her chair.

She is going to love her older sisters when she gets big because they already love her so much and want to help all the time. Lauren made sure that she always had enough blankets on, we just made sure to pull them down off Ahton's face, Lauren must have thought it was cold because she kept covering it when she put the blankets on. By the time she was done collecting, Ashton had close to 7 blankets on. She will never have to worry about being cold with Lauren around.

For the table Kaylin made turkeys with our names on them to tell us where to sit. We had the best Thanksgiving meal, played some Turkey Bingo, and got to see a new baby.  Overall awesome Thanksgiving.

2 Months Old

So it's about a week late but Mason is now 2 months old.  Here are his stats from his 2 month appointment.
Age: 9 Weeks
Weight: 12 lbs 6 oz (59th %)
Height: 23.5 inches (64th %)
Head Circumference: 16.3 inches (75th%)
Kelsey I know he's not as big as Crew, but we're trying to do some
extra feeding to fatten him up so he doesn't look so little in December :)

I love watching him grow and see how he is developing and becoming more human-like.  He loves to stand up while you balance him, kick his legs and flail his arms while he's on the ground, smiling, talking, and sucking on his left fist.

Overall he is a pretty happy baby, sometimes he can be a little grumpy but with a face like that I can't be mad for long.  I can't wait for him to grow up and be able to play and see more and more of his personality! I am so excited for him to see more of his family in this coming month and hope everyone has a great Christmas!!

Mason's Big Weekend

This past weekend we had family in town for Mason's baby blessing.  Because we have a small apartment that isn't quite large enough for all of our family it was nice to get out on the town and breathe a little fresh air when the weather permitted.  For Saturday we had an awesome lunch at Waddell's Pub and Grill.

These hamburgers are some of the best I have ever had; and Zoe was  right the fries are pretty impressive, especially with their special Squirrelly  Season All Seasoning!!

My mom ate there when she was here for Mason's birth and apparently liked enough to suggest it. I thought it was a little funny that although they have a large selection of food and burgers, everyone except Gi Gi and Nana ended up getting the same hamburger.  My sisters loved the french fries and Zoe said she loved them and that they were the best in the world about 50 times.

Just wanted to show Nana's sweet set up; she isn't supposed to sit because of her back so she is supposed to be either  laying down or standing.  All she needs now is sun, sand, and JB to feed her grapes and fan her with a palm leaf.

When we were couped up indoors the girls loved to play the Wii, the grandparents even took a turn to play and entertain us with their "skills".

Sunday was Mason's blessing which went great! Christopher even made a few of us cry, bet you can't guess who?!  The outfit Mason wore was a hit, and he looked so much older with his cute clothes on. We were so grateful for the friends in our ward that were able to participate in the blessing.

We are so thankful for loving families who were willing to travel to be part of his special day. We were sad that not all of our family could be here but we can't wait to see them soon.

I love our little boy and we are so grateful for him in our lives; can't believe he's already 6 weeks old!! He's already growing up way too fast!

October Updates

Just wanted to put up some pictures from our October happenings.  Since Mason isn't old enough to trick-or-treat yet, and we went to our party a week earlier our Halloween was very low key.

Mason did have a very cute outfit for Halloween day and because we didn't get any tick-or-treaters or go anywhere this is the only place where people will see it.

The aftermath of Halloween for Christopher's facial hair lead to him shaving his beard and sporting a pretty solid mustache.  Christopher was really excited to take a picture with Mason so when he gets older he can look at the picture and be impressed with his dad.

Mason also started smiling the past couple weeks and we are loving the fact that he is now starting to recognize us and make it feel like our efforts are worthwhile.

Halloween

So our friends the Durrants decided to throw a FHE Halloween party.  We started thinking of costume ideas that we could all be together. My ideas were all the same where we were some kind of sport athlete and Mason was the ball for whichever one we picked; Christopher's idea was anything where he could have a mustache.  So we ended up being pirates!

The party was a blast with super cute costumes and delicious food; some of which were peanut butter eyeballs, caramel corn balls, hot apple cider, and these amazing chocolate marshmallow bars!

I loved seeing the way all the kids were around Mason. They would look at him and say, "Awww, look at the little pirate!"  The Durrant's little boy Conner also loves Mason, his favorite thing to do is rock his car seat.

We also had a pumpkin carving contest, we ended up winning first place. I think the fact that the other families where their kids, all of whom were younger than 12, carved their pumpkins was a major contributing factor to us winning.

Don't let the pictures fool you, I did work too. Christopher carved the top off and emptied it out, I did the carving of the face!

Our award winning pumpkin-the prize was amazing home-made jam and fruit syrup...YUM

Mason slept most of the night but did make an appearance for his photo opt, but this is what he looked like for most  the night.

We had an awesome time and everyone loved Mason's costume!

Here we go

For the past few years I have been keeping myself up-to-date on other people's lives through blogs.  Now that we have a baby I figured other people might want to know some of the things that we're up to, or at least check in just to see pics of the kid.  As he is still little and not doing much yet this is just a photo dump with pics of him with some of the people who love him!! Thanks for looking.
