Halloween

So our friends the Durrants decided to throw a FHE Halloween party.  We started thinking of costume ideas that we could all be together. My ideas were all the same where we were some kind of sport athlete and Mason was the ball for whichever one we picked; Christopher's idea was anything where he could have a mustache.  So we ended up being pirates!

The party was a blast with super cute costumes and delicious food; some of which were peanut butter eyeballs, caramel corn balls, hot apple cider, and these amazing chocolate marshmallow bars!

I loved seeing the way all the kids were around Mason. They would look at him and say, "Awww, look at the little pirate!"  The Durrant's little boy Conner also loves Mason, his favorite thing to do is rock his car seat.

We also had a pumpkin carving contest, we ended up winning first place. I think the fact that the other families where their kids, all of whom were younger than 12, carved their pumpkins was a major contributing factor to us winning.

Don't let the pictures fool you, I did work too. Christopher carved the top off and emptied it out, I did the carving of the face!

Our award winning pumpkin-the prize was amazing home-made jam and fruit syrup...YUM

Mason slept most of the night but did make an appearance for his photo opt, but this is what he looked like for most  the night.

We had an awesome time and everyone loved Mason's costume!

  1. I love that you made Mason a sword! And I can't believe you drew a mustache on him :-). You guys looked great and congratulations on winning the pumpkin carving contest.
